The original Poland Spring Bottling plant & Spring House construction started in 1897 and was completed in 1904 in Spanish Architecture. The Spring House interior includes Italian Pavorazzo marble, the floors of mosaic and the spring enclosed under a glass case and the walls lined with Carrara glass. These buildings were taken out of service when a more modern bottling plant was constructed on an adjacent site. The unoccupied buildings became the subject of much vandalism for the prized interior finishes.
Hebert Construction started the restoration of these buildings including structural repairs in 1998. The Buildings are included in the Federal Register of Historic Places and strict restoration procedures were followed. Where required Hebert fabricated exact molding profiles.
These buildings have now been put in service under a different use but have been restored to exact standards. The ground floor is now a museum with historical exhibits of turn of the century bottling operations memorabilia. The second floor features a gift shop, conference room, and educational displays.
